Tuning Ginzburg–Landau theory to quantitatively study thin ferromagnetic materials

چکیده

Along with experiments, numerical simulations are key to gaining insight into the underlying mechanisms governing domain wall motion in thin ferromagnetic systems. However, a direct comparison between simulation of model systems and experimental results still represents great challenge. Here, we present tuned Ginzburg-Landau quantitatively study dynamics walls quasi two-dimensional perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. This incorporates material parameters micromagnetic prescription for thermal fluctuations, allowing us perform material-specific at same time recover universal features. We show that our reproduces previous velocity-field data archetypal anisotropy Pt/Co/Pt ultra-thin films three dynamical regimes (creep, depinning flow). In addition, statistical analysis width parameter, showing can provide detailed nano-scale information while retaining complex behavior disordered model.

Homogenization of ferromagnetic materials

In these notes we describe the homogenzation theory for ferromagnetic materials. A new phenomenon arises, in particular to take into account the geometric constraint that the magnetization is locally saturated.

Frustration in ferromagnetic materials

We examine the theory of micromagnetics developed by W. F. Brown. We show that in the case often considered, with exchange energy omitted, the minimum of the free energy is not attained for uniaxial materials but is attained for cubic materials. A study of the minimizing sequences reveals that these accurately model many features of observed domain structure. Finally, we reexamine the so-called...

Junction of ferromagnetic thin films

In this paper, starting from the classical 3D micromagnetic energy, we determine, via an asymptotic analysis, the free energy of two joined ferromagnetic thin films. We distinguish different regimes depending on the limit of the ratio between the small thicknesses of the two films.

Growth and magnetotransport study of thin ferromagnetic CrO2 films

Highly a-axis-textured CrO2 films have been deposited on Al2O3(0001) and on isostructural TiO2(100) substrates by a chemical vapour deposition technique. For Al2O3 substrates a columnar growth of CrO2(010) on an initial Cr2O3(0001) layer has been found in transmission electron microscopy as well as in x-ray diffraction investigations. The sixfold in-plane symmetry of a (0001)-oriented Cr2O3 ini...
